I think just about everyone likes to laugh every now and again. Jennifer and I like this one guy that does prank calls. He is seriously funny. Be warned that his material is not for all viewers/listeners. Much of it is adult content and some profanity. This guy has something like 5 or 6 different voices he uses. The first one I heard from him was one about a Thanksgiving turkey… laughed so hard made my side hurt!! You should go check him out.
I love some good BBQ!! I was raised in Texas, and I know a thing or two about BBQ. I have been looking for a good BBQ place since I came to VA in 2007. I have tried quite a few and all of them keep falling short. They just don’t have that awesome Texas style BBQ flavor. I did manage to find one that comes close. Megallon’s BBQ is a small place on Little Creek Rd. (2424 E Little Creek Rd). They make and sell their own BBQ sauce as well.
You get a pretty decent amount of food for the price, and so far it is the best place I’ve been to. Once I find another place that is good I will let everyone know.
For those of you that play MMO’s like World of Warcraft, you will probably get this. I love it when someone queues for a dungeon or raid and then goes afk. I mean really? If you are gonna go afk, don’t que for a dungeon or BG… that’s just plain disrespectful to the other people who are waiting to do it then. An emergency can’t be helped, but not everyone that does this is having an emergency.
Okay everyone, bare with me on this one. It might seem like I’m rambling or all over the place on this one, but there is definitely a point here.
As I’m sure people are aware, with all the advances in modern medicine, people are able to live significantly longer. For some people, this is a blessing. They are able to share their knowledge and experience with others, see more advances, and watch their grandchildren grow to be adults. For others though, living to be old isn’t all that great. Dementia, alzheimers disease, cancer, and a host of other problems, being old can really suck.
We live in a country that believes in the “Sanctity of Life”. What this means is that life is more important than choice. We, as people, do not have the right to end our own life. We must endure and struggle on. Personally, I call bullshit.
I would like to shed some light on another travesty. There are a lot of serious problems within the government. Trying to expose them all here in one post would be impossible, without it reading like a book.
I believe there should be some major changes in how people that serve our government are treated. For one thing, when the laws stating that the Congress and Senate members should be compensated for the remainder of their life, you need to look at the lifespan from the time. Most people didn’t live very long, so that was an easy argument. Today, however, circumstances should dictate that a cap should be placed on this compensation, or that a minimum number of years be served like in any other branch of government service.
Illegal immigrants… a very hot and extremely controversial topic. Before I start this topic, I will say this: this is my opinion based on what I know and what I’ve seen. I’m not an expert on the matter by any shape or form. That being said…
Within my post the Meaning of Life, I allude to my reason for writing it. I will now go more in depth. As anyone who knows me and my views, I am forever talking about knowing yourself. Knowing who you are is the key to knowing what you want, knowing what is truly important to you, and knowing what kinds of people you want in your life. I also talk about religion in the post. I do so in such a way as to get people to think about religion in a different way. I am not trying to get people to totally question their beliefs. What I want people to do is to think about why they believe the way they do.
In the political climate of today, there are few choices that leave a good taste in your mouth. There is a bad candidate, and a worse candidate. How do you choose?
There are a few rants I would like to list here. Please let me know if you agree.
The Other Half of Me
When I was young and thought of life
And all that it could be
I knew I had to find
The other half of me.
Everywhere I searched
And all the places I did see
And still I could not find
The other half of me.
I searched high and low
Above and beyond
I found many hearts
Of which I was fond.
But they could not compare
To the one I had not seen
For still I had not found the other half of me.
Then you came along one day
And stole away my heart
Resistance was futile
Even from the start.
So now I’m at this place in time
And the answer came to me
That I need not seek again
For the other half of me.
One day I was on the internet and saw a website where I could enter a poetry contest. I figured what the heck, why not? On the spot, I created this poem. I got stuff in the mail saying I was nominated for the 2005 Poet of the Year Award. I didn’t win, But I thought this would be a great poem for my future wife. Once I finally found her, I dedicated this poem to her. I love you Jen!!
